When getting ready to paint your exterior walls ensure the weather is in your favour. You can not paint outdoors if you have rain in the forecast as each step requires the paint or treatments to dry thoroughly.

Ideally work in an ambiant temperature of 10-25 degrees.

Avoid painting in the hot sun or with frost on the wall or if it is raining or damp.

Ensure the wall is properly cleaned you can use a scrub brush and a wall cleaner to clean off dirt.

Treat your wall with an anti-foam agent.

Cover door frames with masking tape to protect from paint.

Cover your floor with a plastic sheet.

Check if you need a base stabiliser for your wall and allow time for this to dry.

Check for cracks that need filling and use crackfiller or exterior silicone to help fill these.

If your wall is crumbly look to correct this with a base stabiliser. This needs 3-4 days to dry.

We suggest an undercoat is applied to improve adhesion of the paint and best colour opacity.

After undercoat allow for 24 hours for the paint to dry.

Most importantly remember to allow for enough time between coats.
