EuroDrain Technology „EDT“ is transforming the plumbing services landscape in Africa and its islands through an approach that combines innovative products, exceptional service and a unique training and skill sharing programme.

EDT was founded in SA by Immanuel Rost, and remains a proudly South African company committed to local excellence and uplifting the trade in SA and beyond. Water is a precious commodity throughout Africa, and enhancing the ability to capture, treat, channel and preserve it is a vital value-add.

During the 1990s, EDT Immanuel Rost partnered with German firm KESSEL AG, founded by his Uncle Mr. Bernhard KESSEL; giving them access to world-class designs which are then manufactured in Germany and assembled and partially manufactured in South Africa. EDT’s reputation for quality has made them a leader in drainage (both indoor and outdoor), piping and water and waste water treatment.

In addition to international and local manufacturing, EDT is focused on the flow of knowledge and skills to the local plumbing trade. By investing time in professional development, EDT is able to empower plumbers and increase the quality of service provided to clients.

With increasing internet penetration throughout Africa, EDT has been able to roll-out Kessel’s three-phase training programme. This consists of e-learning, webinars and onsite training. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical, vocational training results in highly skilled plumbing and maintenance professionals.

In partnership with Kessel AG, EDT is continuously upgrading its product offering and adding to its range of value-added products. These are designed in Germany for African manufacture in the very near future – and to meet the specific needs of African water reticulation and treatment projects.

EDT Technicians provide focused customer assistance to installers, plumbers and partners. In this way, the company can help African plumbing businesses to grow, create meaningful employment opportunities and improve quality of life through enhanced water supply and treatment.
