1. All and any returns and/or refunds shall be governed by our standard terms and conditions of sale. All Iotrend Warranties and Repairs are limited to carry in.
2. The customer returns the product within 7 days of receipt of goods and confirms the return by sending a written notice to [email protected] or via other affiliated market place platforms on which Iotrend sells (within abovementioned seven-day period).
3. Goods returned for credit or refund must be returned in the original condition and original packaging (resaleable condition) and are to be returned within 7 days of delivery (This applies to incorrect goods purchased or supplied). All goods returned that are repackaged in the original packaging are subject to a reasonable handling fee which may be charged at up to 20% or at the discretion of Iotrend based on the nature of the case at hand up in respect of any consumption or depletion thereof. The customer acknowledges that the right to return the goods shall be limited to Iotrends discretion, in the event that the goods are partially or entirely disassembled, physically altered, permanently installed, affixed, attached, joined or added to, blended or combined with, or embedded within, other goods or property.
4. The Customer is responsible for all costs associated with returns by shipped freight (courier) including the associated insurance. The onus is the customer to ensure that the goods returned are received by Iotrend within 7 days of written notice. Under no circumstances will Iotrend accept responsibility for goods returned that are lost in transit.
5. It is further agreed that no goods will be accepted for return/exchange and/or refund by Iotrend after the lapse of six months from date of purchase.
6. All electronic goods will be tested before any exchange, credit or refund will be issued.
7. Iotrend will not be held liable for any loss or costs incurred due to the failure of a product once installed or for any damages suffered by the customer or a third party due to the malfunction of products purchased where the product has been materially altered or has been used contrary to any manufacturer installation manual or technical instructions given.
8. Any damage caused by abuse, misuse, unauthorized modifications, tampering, any acts of God or force majeure, incorrect installation, insect infestation, liquid damage, lightening or power surges will not be covered by Iotrend.
9. Iotrend reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim if the damage is caused by any factors beyond the specifications or performance levels of the product.
10. In the event that Iotrend does not have stock of goods which have been purchased, then Iotrend shall procure the same or similar goods from an alternative source at the same price subject to the customer's consent. Iotrend shall not be liable for shortage of stock in circumstances that are beyond the control of Iotrend
11. Goods damaged on delivery or in transit - Should a product be damaged or missing any parts or accessories at the time of delivery/collection, please notify us within 7 days of such delivery/collection. The product may be repaired or replaced based on technical evaluation.
12. Defective Goods- What is a defect? A defect is a product that does not operate as per manufacturer’s instructions or product specifications. If you have received a product which is deemed to be defective, please notify us within a 7-day period of receipt /collection. The product may be repaired or replaced based on technical evaluation.
Useful tips for quick return resolutions:
To ensure that your return is processed in a timely fashion, please adhere to the below points:
• Ensure that the product is securely packaged for transit.
• Clearly mark the return for the attention of Iotrend with a return reference number clearly visible on the external packaging
• Include all accessories, parts and manuals in the box that came with the original product.
13. Repairs & Warranties
13.1 A repair or exchange of a product within the warranty period will carry a further warranty period of three months, such repairs, however, will not extend the duration of the original warranty period.
13.2 In the event that external repairs are necessary, Iotrend will offer a carry in warranty of repair for an equivalent period to that of the supplier.
13.3 Repairs conducted by Iotrend repair department will carry a 3-month warranty on that specific repair. Any other faults occurring will be treated as a separate repair.
13.4 Repaired items will not be released to the customer until any payment due in respect thereof has been received.
13.5 Iotrend reserves its rights to charge a handling fee of up to 10% of invoice value on any items that are received for repair that are found to be free of fault or defect, or where reports beyond that of the job card are requested.
13.6 Iotrend reserves its rights to sell/resell all repaired goods which are not collected within 120 days of repair, in order to defray costs.
13.7 Any warranty claims against batteries, power supplies and other electrical components that may be subjected to power fluctuations and surges will require proof of the correct application and installation of the product. All installations must adhere to local wiring regulations and standards.
14. IOTREND Battery Warranty
All batteries sold by IOTREND carry a 1-year limited warranty from date of sale.
Batteries are subject to a high level of wear.
Due to this and other factors, batteries need to be inspected regularly. The life of a battery is dependable on many external factors such as the number of cycles, duty cycle, charger and charging rate, discharging rate, shorting of terminals, power surges, temperature, storage period, heating of connecting terminals etc.
As national electrical infrastructure comes under increasing strain and load shedding escalates, batteries are constantly discharging and recharging. This in turn affects the batteries lifespan and output.
The cost of running a battery-based power solution is not dissimilar to running a generator, when the fuel runs out, it requires re-filling.
When batteries experience a number of cycles (charge and discharge), they require replacement.
Batteries supplied and used with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) do not carry a warranty.
This is due to the number and duration of deep discharges which batteries are subject to during power outages and load shedding. As a result, battery life and backup times cannot be warrantied.
The short turnaround times between load-shedding schedules do not provide sufficient time for batteries to fully recharge.
In the event that the battery becomes defective, malfunctions or fails during the warranty period, IOTREND undertakes at its sole discretion to repair, recharge or replace the Battery subject to the following terms and conditions:
• Proof of purchase provided – no exchange, credit or refund will be done without original proof of purchase.
• The warranty is for material and workmanship defects on the Battery only. Any consequential or transport costs are excluded.
• Should a warranty claim be accepted, and the battery is replaced, the new battery will carry a warranty for the remaining period of the original proof of purchase
• Warranty claim will be null and void if any of the following conditions are applicable:
- The Battery was not used for its intended purpose and/or not of correct capacity or type for which it was installed.
- The Battery failure or non-conformance was due to abuse or neglect, improper and/or incorrect charging and/or maintenance and/or failure to keep the Battery properly charged, charging system failure, sulphation due to over discharging, overheating, freezing, tipping over, abnormal wear and tear, tampering, damaged terminals, cracked or damaged battery casing, damage due to the battery not being properly secured or incorrectly mounted, and/or damage resulting from external events such as collisions, fire and Acts of God.
- If the battery has any other visible external abuse (Damaged Case, Damaged Poles, Tampered Date Codes, Forced removal of sealed cover)
IOTREND provides sales and technical support for product sold. It however remains the sole responsibility of the customer/installer to ensure that they are adequately trained and skilled to install and use the product in the correct application. It will therefore be the sole responsibility of the customer/installer to prove that the product was used in the correct application.
