Firstly you can place the heater semi-horizontal inside the aquarium towards the rear. Secondly is vertical, making sure the heater is below minimum water level. When the red light is visible then your water has reached the desired temperature. Allow 24 hours for the aquarium to stabilize. Do not turn on until the water is at maximum level.
