Firstly the "ingredients" used in the mix design are mostly natural so the exact colour and outcome can never be precise. Much the same as a piece of fine pottery or a granite countertop. Secondly each precious basin is hand made and crafted by one of our expert team members. From the very beginning of the process in preparing the molds to the final touches where we triple seal each basin by hand to allow for a specialised coating that will penetrate deep into the concrete. This creates a hygienic surface safe for use in kitchen and bathroom environments. The coating also protects the concrete basin from staining easily as would conventional concrete which is incredibly porous and would absorb liquid almost immediately. The sealed basins have a hydrophobic layer which repels liquids and prevents oils, household acids, colourants and dirt fro m becoming imbedded in the basin.
