Our Commitment
At CMAS TRADING & PROJECTS, we are committed to delivering high-quality, modern furniture and decor. We stand by our products and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This policy outlines our procedures for returns and guarantees to ensure a clear, fair, and seamless customer experience.
1. General Returns (Non-Defective Items)
If you have a change of mind, you may return most non-defective items within 7 days of the delivery or collection date, subject to the following conditions:
• Condition: The item must be unused, un-assembled, in its original, undamaged condition, and in its complete original packaging.
• Proof of Purchase: The original CMAS invoice or proof of purchase is required for all returns.
• Return Costs:
o The customer is responsible for all costs associated with returning the item to our warehouse.
o If you require CMAS to collect the item, a collection fee (equivalent to our standard delivery charge for your area) will be charged.
• Restocking Fee: All non-defective returns are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee, which will be deducted from your refund.
Items Ineligible for General Return:
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned for a "change of mind":
• Made To Order or custom-fabricated items.
• Gift Cards.
• Clearance, "As-Is," or floor/demo model items.
• Items that have been assembled (if not assembled by the CMAS team).
• Services that have already been rendered (e.g., delivery, assembly, or design consultation fees).
2. Made To Order & Custom Items
• Cancellation Policy: Made To Order items are built specifically for you. You have a 24-hour cooling-off period from the time of placing your order to make amendments or cancel.
• Final Order: After 24 hours, the order is considered final, manufacturing has commenced, and the order cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded.
• Natural Variations: Many of our high-end items use natural materials (e.g., solid wood, veneers, marble, genuine leather). Inherent characteristics such as variations in grain, colour, texture, knots, or veining are a celebrated part of the product's unique, natural quality and are not considered manufacturing defects.
3. Product Guarantees (Defective Items)
CMAS guarantees its products against manufacturing defects. A manufacturing defect is a material imperfection in the design or construction that was present at the time of delivery.
This guarantee does not cover:
• Damage caused by accidents, negligence, misuse, or improper care.
• Damage from failure to follow assembly or care instructions.
• Standard wear and tear (e.g., fabric pilling, natural fading, or softening of cushions).
• Inherent natural variations (as described in Section 2).
Guarantee Timeframes:
• Furniture Guarantee:
o Frames (Lounge & Bedroom): 5-years guarantee against manufacturing defects.
o Upholstery & Materials (Leather, Fabric): 2-years guarantee against stitching defects or undue wear.
o Mechanisms (Recliners, etc.): 12 months guarantee.
• Non-Furniture Guarantee (e.g., Decor, Linens, Homeware):
o A 6-months guarantee covers manufacturing faults.
4. Resolution for Defective Items
If a valid manufacturing defect is found within the guarantee period, CMAS TRADING & PROJECTS will, at its discretion, offer one of the following resolutions:
1. Repair: We will arrange for the item to be repaired by a qualified technician.
2. Replace: We will replace the item with a new or similar item of equal value.
3. Refund: If a repair or replacement is not possible, we will issue a partial or full refund.
5. How to Log a Return or Guarantee Claim
To ensure a smooth process, please follow these steps:
1. Contact Us: To initiate any return or claim, contact our customer service team at [email protected] or 068 048 0455.
2. Provide Proof: You must provide your original invoice number as proof of purchase. The onus is on the customer to provide this.
3. Provide Evidence (for Defects): For defect claims, please provide a detailed description and clear photographs of the fault.
4. Assessment: Our team will assess your request and advise on the next steps (e.g., scheduling an inspection, collection, or return).
6. Refund Processing
• Inspection: Once a returned item is received at our warehouse, it will be inspected to ensure it meets the return conditions.
• Timeline: Please allow 7-10 business days for the inspection and processing of your refund.
• Method: Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment.
• Deductions: Please note that any applicable collection fees or restocking fees will be deducted from the final refund amount.

Our Delivery Promise
At CMAS Trading & Projects, we are committed to providing a seamless and professional delivery
experience for our valued customers. We understand that receiving your new furniture and
homeware is an exciting final step in your design journey. This policy outlines our services, costs,
and what you can expect from us.
1. Homeware Delivery
For your convenience, all homeware items are delivered free of charge nationwide.
• Lead Time: 2-10 working days, depending on your location.
2. Furniture Delivery Services
We offer a range of delivery options to suit your needs. You can select your preferred service at
checkout.
• Click & Collect (Free): Collect your order directly from our Johannesburg warehouse at no
cost. Our team will notify you once your order is ready for collection.
• Standard Delivery: Our professional delivery team will place your packaged item(s) in your
room of choice. This service does not include assembly or removal of packaging.
• White-Glove Service (from R450 additional): For the ultimate convenience, our premium
service includes delivery, full assembly of your furniture in your desired room, and the
removal of all packaging materials, leaving your space ready to enjoy.

4. Delivery Lead Times
• In-Stock Wooden Furniture: Delivery will be scheduled within 6-10 working days from the
date of purchase.
• Custom-Made Furniture (Couches, Headboards, etc.): These pieces are crafted specifically
for you.
o Manufacturing Time: Please allow 4 to 8 weeks for production.
o Proactive Updates: We believe in keeping you informed. You will receive automated
email or SMS updates at key milestones:
1. Order Confirmed & Production Scheduled
2. In Production (e.g., Frame Built)
3. Finishing Touches (e.g., Upholstery)
4. Final Quality Inspection
5. Ready for Dispatch
o Delivery: Once production is complete, our delivery team will contact you to
schedule a delivery date based on the standard lead times below.
5. Scheduling Your Delivery
Once your order is ready for dispatch, our logistics team will contact you directly to propose a
delivery date. Your delivery lead time begins from the moment our team confirms a delivery date
with you.
• Urban Areas: 3-7 days
• Suburban & Remote Areas: 3–14 days
6. Preparing for Your Delivery
To ensure a successful delivery, please take the following steps before our team arrives:
• Measure Your Access Points: Please measure all doorways, passages, stairways, and
elevators to ensure the item will fit.
• Clear the Path: Remove any obstacles such as tables, pictures, or low-hanging light fittings
that could obstruct the delivery path.
• Deliveries to Security Estates & Complexes: Please confirm your complex's rules regarding
delivery vehicle size and access times. It is your responsibility to pre-arrange access with
your security or estate management to avoid failed delivery attempts.
Additional Services:
• Hoisting: If your furniture cannot fit through normal access points, a hoisting service is
available for a fixed fee of R800. Please notify our sales team when ordering if you
anticipate needing this service.
7. General Terms
• Third-Party Couriers: During peak periods, we may partner with trusted third-party courier
services. We will securely share necessary contact and delivery details with them to
facilitate your delivery.
• International Shipping: We proudly offer worldwide shipping. Please note that certain
products may have restrictions. Contact us for a custom international shipping quote.
